Floyd A. Dupwe Jr.

Floyd A. Dupwe Jr., 74, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center.

Floyd Jr. was born in Jonesboro on August 18, 1937 to the late Floyd Sr. and Mary Lucy Dupwe of Jonesboro. Floyd Jr. lived his entire life in Jonesboro, where he attended Blessed Sacrament School, Jonesboro High School class of 1955, Arkansas State University, and was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He spent 31 years with the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. He was an avid gun & knife enthusiast, and was a 2x State Champion skeet shooter. Since retirement he volunteered as the caretaker for Holy Cross Cemetery.


Survivors include his son, Russell Dupwe of Jonesboro; a brother, Warren (Mila) Dupwe of Jonesboro; a sister, Martha (Mickey) Stafford of Jonesboro; a sister in law, Mabel Bradley, and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Dupwe; and his parents, Floyd Sr. and Mary Lucy Dupwe.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Larry Soffray, Greg Mitchell, Doug Dupwe, Jim Hardin, Leroy Johnson, and Jim Wilkins.

Also honored to serve as honorary pallbearers are George Osborn, Bobby Puryear, Larry Brimhall, Junior Cliff, Dr. Matthew Quick, Dr. Michael Hightower, Terry Norris, Bill Brown, Bill Carson, and Paul Taylor.

Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Richard Davis, Father Ernie Hardesty, Father Jack Vu, and Bro. Ray Broadway officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

A Rosary will be held from 530-6:00 p.m. follow by visitation until 8pm Friday evening in the Emerson Memorial Chapel.
