Flora Lee Elizabeth Hampton

Flora Lee Elizabeth Hampton, of Bay, died Thursday morning at her home. She had lived in Bay since 1991, moving there from Jonesboro. She was a homemaker and was a member of Nettleton Church of Christ. She loved to pass her time reading the Bible and making Bible markers.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Billy & Wanda Hampton, Ray Allen & Sharon Hampton, Sr., all of Bay; her daughter and son-in-law, Wava & Ed Woods of Ethel, MS; her brother, Austin Lewis of Jonesboro; her sister, Mary Frances Varnell of Michigan; her grandchildren, Jon Hampton, Katie Hampton, Allen Hampton, Stacy McGowan, Marilyn Miller, David Woods, Kevin Woods, Ginny Thomas, James Samu, Kim Hosman; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezekiel Hampton; and a grandchild, Tracy Jane Hampton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jimmy Young officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Dennis Gregory, Jerry Turner, David Wolf, Willie Simpson, Gordon Harrison, James Lee, Joe Brewer, and David Loggins.

Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
