Flo Ella Heath

Flo Ella Heath,  87,  of Jonesboro,  Arkansas,  passed from this life Monday, March 22, 2021.  Born July 10 ^th , 1933, in Athens,  Alabama,  to William and Doney Higdon.  Flo married Bob Heath on April 19, 1950 and they were married 69 years.

Flo was preceded in death by her parents, brothers William and  Aaron Higdon, sisters Avis Bryant, Gertrude Sullivan, Estell Metcalf, Leona Harris, and Susie Garner, son Larry Heath, grandchildren Bobby Heath and Will Stallings.

Flo is survived by children Sandra(Dwight) Hamby, Robert(Deborah) Heath,  Jim (Sharlet) Heath, and Angie (Barry) Self;  grandchildren Amber(Les) Cirilo, Amy Hamby, Michael (Michelle) Heath, Justin (Cassie) Hamby, Casey (Lauren) Heath, Jarrod (Shelly) Hamby, Brandi (Jon) Dacus, Heather(Matt) Stallings, Blake(Shalea) Self, Garrett (Destiny) Hillis, and Levi Hillis;  17 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.

Flo retired from General Electric and was a homemaker for 60 years.  Flo is the last of her generation. She was very much a part of her children’s lives and her nieces and nephews as well.  Her home was truly a gathering place where all were welcome. She could prepare and serve a delicious meal in a moment’s notice.  Many people sat in her living room and dined at her table. She was truly the Matriarch of the family.  She served with husband Bob, a General Baptist Pastor, at churches in Indiana, Kentucky and Arkansas.

Flo loved being outdoors and an occasional picnic and always had at least 4 pairs of shoes in her trunk for any social event that may arise.  She loved to eat out at Catfish Restaurants not filets but with the bone in.

Funeral Services will be Friday, March 26, 2021,  at Emerson Funeral Home 1629 E Nettleton Ave, Jonesboro Arkansas, 72401 beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joey Rupard officiating.  Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday,  March 25, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home.
