Fannie Marie Stokes Phillips, 74, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, January 22, 2009, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center.
Born in Fair Oaks, Mrs. Phillips lived most of her life in Jonesboro. She was a homemaker and a member of Herman Baptist Church. Fannie loved to sew, knit, crochet and make craft items.
She loved children and grandchildren, and was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Allen Phillips, and her parents: Fred and Julia Jeffers Stokes.
Survivors include: 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Dale and Marsha Phillips of Bono, and David and Hope Phillips of Paragould;
1 sister and brother-in-law: Carolyn and Jerry Reece of Jonesboro;
1 brother and sister-in-law: Royal and Maxine Stokes of Jonesboro;
4 grandchildren: Rebecha Phillips, Jousha Phillips, Krystal Phillips and Layne Phillips; 3 step grandchildren: Amy Campbell, Justin Harris and Austin Shelton; and 4 step great grandchildren: Will Cossey, Breeze Campbell, Gavin Harris and Mason Harris.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Gary Henderson and Jon Stricklin officiating. Burial will follow in Strawfloor Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include: Jarrod Reece, Todd Stokes, Bobby Phillips, Jerry Roth, Herbert Roth, and Wayne Winn.
Honorary pallbearers include: Tommy Roth, Terry Roth, James Murphy, Jr., Terry Lawson and Roy Sims.
Visitation will be held Saturday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
