Evie Lee Dorton

Evie Lee (Price) Carroll Dorton, 88, of Jonesboro died on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at St Bernards Medical Center. She was born on May 26, 1931 in Prague, Oklahoma to the late Luther and Evie Price. Evie grew up in Lepanto and was a homemaker for her family. She was also a member of Nettleton Pentecostal Church of God. Evie enjoyed reading her bible, spending time with family and friends, she enjoyed time sewing, cooking from scratch and fishing with her husband Russell.  She also loved to go to garage sales and she loved her church.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Russell Dorton of Jonesboro;

daughter, Tonya Hatley of Harrisburg;

four granddaughters;

three great grandsons;

two great granddaughters;

two step sons, James Dorton (Mary) and Steve Dorton (Patty) both of Jonesboro;

step daughter, Denise Heath of Jonesboro;

seven step grandchildren; and

15 step great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Evie is preceded in death by her son, five brothers, three sisters, one grandson, and one great granddaughter.

The visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 1-2 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Emerson Funeral Home with Brian Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto with the active pallbearers being Donnie Davis, Trey Davis, James M. McGarity, Donald Davis, Devin Clark, and Chase Taylor. The honorary pallbearers are Steve Dorton, James Dorton, and Burl Wayne Price.
