Evert Lee Russell, 61, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born in Jonesboro on July 20, 1964 to Jackie Lee Russell and Shirley Ann (Wilson) Russell.

Evert built his career working in lawncare. He loved being outside, tending rose bushes, and making yards beautiful. Evert also enjoyed working on his vehicles. He was always interested in history and classic music. Above all else, Evert loved spending time with his family. His grandchildren and dog, Buddy, brought him immense joy and never failed to bring a smile to his face.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Lee Russell, and many aunts and uncles.

Evert is survived by his loving wife, Tonya Russell of the home; mother, Shirley Russell of Jonesboro; children, Ashley (Justin) Sellers of Brookland, Shannon (Ashley) Russell of Stansbury Park, Utah, Jessie Russell of Bono, Bethanye Reeves of Jonesboro, and Dylan Russell of Bono; stepchildren, Haley (Chris) Ballard of Ash Flat, Leah Long of Jonesboro, and Adam (Sadie) Hoy of Walnut Ridge; brothers, Wayne Russell of Jonesboro and Wesley (Jennifer) Russell of Jonesboro; sister, Sherry Campbell of Jonesboro; thirty-five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and a lifetime of friends.

A celebration of life, officiated by Pastor Bradley Robinson, will be held at Faith Tabernacle Church in Jonesboro at a later date.
