Evelyn Jones

Evelyn Jones of Jonesboro, peacefully went to be with her Lord Jesus in Heaven on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the age of 81 years.  She was born January 22, 1939 in Sandtown, Arkansas to James and Velma Barnett.  Evelyn was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Needham where she resided for 65 years.  She was retired from the Jonesboro Human Development Center where she worked as an occupational therapist.  Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Warner Emerson; husband, William H. Jones; niece, Diane Tice; granddaughter, Amanda J. See; and daughter-in-law, Teresa D. Emerson.

She is survived by her sons, Jimmy R. (Sally) Emerson; Warren A. (Sandra) Emerson: grandchildren, Bryan (Jamie) Barnes; David (Dolly) See; JJ Emerson; Adam (Christian) Emerson; Stephanie (Mark) Griffey; Matt Emerson; 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Lee (Shirley) Barnett; Gilbert (Shirley) Barnett; Gerald (Fran) Barnett  3 sisters, Genora Tice, Maxine Bowers, Opal Gene Tice; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special to her heart Tonya and Abbi Grissom.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Emerson Funeral Home, and  services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 14, 2020 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Kevin Barnett officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Burial will be at Pine Log Cemetery with Bryan Barnes, David See, Adam Emerson, Matt Emerson, Dylan Griffey and Brian Mask serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Reynolds and Tayler Barnes.  To sign an online guestbook, go to emersonfuneralhome.com.
