Evalyn Craft Tolbert, 98, of Jonesboro passed away surrounded by family on November 3, 2023 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born on April 30, 1925, to C.F. “Jack” Craft and Vetrel Dacus Craft.
She was a faithful member of the Valley View Church of Christ. She was a long-time employee of Dillard’s Department Store while it was in Indian Mall. She loved to travel and was always planning car trips with her friends. Evalyn traveled to 49 of the 50 states with North Dakota being the only state she did not visit – even in her 80’s she traveled and usually drove. On one of her many trips she was chosen as a contestant on the network show – The Price is Right.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe F. Tolbert, granddaughter Sarah Felts, son-in-law, Dr. Larry Felts, two brothers; Jerry B. Craft and Kenneth Craft, one sister Jackie Sauser, nephew Brent Gibson, and great-nephew Benjamin Wilson.
She is survived by one son, Kenny (Connie) Tolbert and one daughter, Myette Tolbert Felts; four grandchildren: Amber (Jarrod) Kersey, Autumn Tolbert, Daniel Felts (Brittanie Chester) and Stephen Felts; five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister Susie (Joe) Gibson Turney; brother-in-law Walt Sauser, two nieces and four nephews.
Evalyn wished to recognize her niece and hairstylist Jennifer Sauser Wilson; her first cousin Glenda Dacus Lane, whose many phone calls she always enjoyed; the late Katherine Sitzer, whom, though a cousin, she always thought of as another sister.
Emerson Funeral Home will be conducting a private graveside service.
