Eva Jane Strickland, 89, of Bay, went to be with the Lord, on February 12, 2018 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She was born in Brookland, Arkansas on December 19, 1928 to the late Earl and Annie Liliker Darr. Jane lived in Bay most of her life, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church, loved the St. Louis Cardinals, and a retired factory worker from Salant/Salant and Parker Hannifin. Jane was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, but her main love was her children and grandchildren, in which she worked to install a positive attitude, confidence, humility, family learning of life, and the love for God.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Warren Strickland, 3 brothers, 1 sister and 2 half sisters.
Jane is survived by her son, Ricky Strickland, daughters, Beverly Norwood (Larry) and Sherry McGough all of Bay.
Brother, Bobby Darr (Norma) and sister, Lucy Winford all of Jonesboro.
Grandchildren, Brian Strickland, Kyle Strickland (Jessica), Ashley Strickland, David McGough (Lindsey), Justin Norwood, Kerri Robertson (James) and 11great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday February 15, 2018 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Danny Taylor and Randy Mink officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Memorial Park cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be held on Thursday February 15, from 1-2 in Emerson Memorial Chapel.
Active pallbearers will be Kevin Darr, Heath Kelly, Gerry Darr, Kevin McFarland, James Robertson and Brett Scott.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
In lieu of flowers family request memorials are made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O Box 190 Bay, Arkansas 72411, in “Loving Memory of Warren and Jane Strickland”.
