Eva Faye Looper, age 90, of Jonesboro, formerly of Bono, peacefully departed this life on Monday, January 1, 2024, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born on January 28, 1933, in Ardmore, Tennessee, to the late Ed and Nellie Gowen.
Eva was a member of Grace Point Church of Christ. She lived in Bono her whole life, before moving to Jonesboro. Eva's journey was marked by a rich tapestry of experiences. After a dedicated career with General Electric, she embraced the joy of selling Avon and exploring her passion for flea markets and auctions as a reseller. Her retirement was filled with the things she loved most, and her favorite pastime was undoubtedly spending precious moments with her cherished family, especially her grandchildren.
Eva was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Tom Looper, as well as her grandson, Brian Reeves, and great-granddaughter, Marley Reeves.
She is survived by two loving daughters, Gwen Vaughn (Mark) of Bono and Sandi Trusty (Tommy) of Greers Ferry. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Ora Novak of Jonesboro, four devoted grandchildren: Micah Arnold (Jason) of Brookland, Natalie Dill (Evan) of Fayetteville, Logan Trusty (Katrina) of Brookland, Tyler Vaughn (Megan) of Jonesboro, and six great-grandchildren. Eva also leaves behind a lifetime of friends.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Emerson Memorial Chapel, starting at 9:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery in Bono, with Bro. Gary Cremeens and Bro. David Gibson officiating.
Active pallbearers include Jason Arnold, Tommy Trusty, Tyler Vaughn, Chase Almond, Johnny Mankey, and Steve Heath. Honorary pallbearers include Mark Vaughn, Logan Trusty, and Dr. Randy Carlton.
The family kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be considered for the Gracepoint Church of Christ Building Fund or Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.
