Euleta "Skeet" Francis Whitworth Hewes

Euleta “Skeet” Francis Whitworth Hewes, 97, of Jonesboro, formerly of Dodge City, Kansas, passed away August 3, 2020 at Jonesboro Health and Rehabilitation. She was born December 22, 1922 in Hattieville, AR to the late Clarence Lester Whitworth and Daisy Dean Carlon.

Euleta joined the Army in 1944 and served during the Second World War. She was very proud of her military service. Euleta was of the Church of Christ belief. She loved to bowl and bowled on a league until she was 95 years old.

In addition to her parents, Euleta was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Dale Williams; sister, Flo Ella Miller; brothers, Carlon Whitworth and Charles Lester Whitworth.

She is survived by two grandsons, Michael Dale and Shane Darin Williams; one sister, Thomasine Ray of West Helena; sisters-in-law, Sarah Whitworth of Sheridan, AR and Naomi Whitworth of Adamsville, TN and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

All services are private.

Burial will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye.
