Ethel Tate, 83, of Jonesboro, formerly of Bono, passed away Sunday at St. Elizabeth's Place in Jonesboro.
Ethel was born in Newport and lived most of her life in the Bono area before moving to Jonesboro where she has resided for the past 7 years. She was a homemaker and worked with her late husband Carl on their farm.
Ethel was a member of Grace Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoyed playing Bingo, working crossword and puzzle books and going to flea markets and yard sales. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jack Lane (Father), Arter Caldwell (Step-Father) and Marie Stout Caldwell; husband Carl Tate; son Donald Tate; 2 daughters: Patricia Leatherwood and Darlene Robinson; a grandson Kyle Leatherwood, a great grandson Tyler Morris and 2 sisters: Magdaline Woodard and Wanda Lee Minick.
Survivors include 3 grandsons and their spouses: Devin and Kim Tate of Bono, Aaron and Anne Robinson and Hunter Robinson all of Jonesboro;
1 granddaughter, Rachael Robinson of Jonesboro;
3 sisters: Auline Banter, Gladys Atwood, and Pauline Bell; and 4 great grandchildren: Emily, Rileigh, Isaac, and Melisa.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rickey T. Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Thursday
preceding the funeral service.
Pallbearers include: Justin Klingensmith, Kelly Klingensmith, Doug Mathis, Ethan McGinnis
The family wishes to express deepest appreciation to the staff and management of St. Elizabeths Place for the excellent care given to Ethel during her stay there. For that reason, the family asks that consideration be given to St. Elizabeth's Place for lasting memorials.
