Ethel M. Coots, 90, of Jonesboro passed away Thursday April 16, 2009 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
She was born in Cash, Arkansas and lived in Jonesboro since 1971.
She was a retired custodian for Jonesboro Public Schools(McArthur) for twenty years and a member of the Stone Street Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Coots, parents, Charles and Lulu McQuay, one grandson; Brad Coots, one brother, Roy McQuay, four sisters, Frankie Hill, Pearl Herring, Ruth Coots and Edna Coots.
She is survived by five sons; Jerry Coots and wife Kathy, Wayne Coots, Larry Coots and wife Gloria, Wade Coots and wife Kay all of Jonesboro and Buddy Coots and wife Frankie of New Holstein, Wisconsin.
Three daughters, Mildred Rose, Barbara Riggs and husband Conway and Shirley Coots all of Jonesboro.
Sister-in-law, Joy McQuay of Jonesboro. Seventeen grandchildren and thirty five great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday April 20, 2009 at the Cash Church of Christ, with Carl Hollis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Worley Cemetery, with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge.
Active pallbearers will be grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, Dr. Sandra and Scott Stubblefield and staff of Brookland Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 5-8:00 P.M. Sunday April 19, 2009 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
