Esther Rye

Esther Rye, 84, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died Monday afternoon, January 22, 2007, at her home.

Born in Tyronza, Arkansas, Mrs. Rye lived in California from 1951-1979 before returning to Jonesboro. She was a retired nurse’s aide and a member of First Assembly of God in Jonesboro. She was preceded in death by her husband: Theados Rye.

Survivors include:

1 Daughter: Charlotte Tacker of the home;

2 Sons: Jerry Rye of Moreno Valley, California, and
Richard Rye of Rogers;

1 Brother: Donald Preston of Tyronza;

4 Sisters: Ruby Bjalobok of Columbia, Kentucky,
Helen Pitchler, and
Elsie Austin, both of Santee, California, and
Carol Rains of Heafer Community, Arkansas;

8 Grandchildren, and
12 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev. Michael Glover officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers include: Steve Raltson, Scott Ralston, Jack Ragland, Wade Young,
Everett Tacker, and Mike Maness.

Donnie Preston will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 9-11 at the funeral home.
