Esperanza Garcia Leal

Esperanza Garcia Leal, 56, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at St. Bernards Medical Center.  She had lived in Jonesboro for over 20 years, moving here from Houston, Texas.  She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church.  Esperanza loved to garden.  She would spend hours meditating and spending time in prayer.  As an accomplished cook, she enjoyed proving meals for her family and spending time with them especially on holidays and birthdays.  She was preceded in death by her mom, two brothers, one niece and one nephew.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Antonio Garcia, of the home; sons, Antonio Garcia and Henry Garcia; daughters, Maria S. Garcia, Maria G. Garcia, and Ana M. Garcia all of Jonesboro; her father, Florentino Leal of Mexico; four brothers and one sister.

A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be 4:00 PM, Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Blessed Sacrament Church with Father Alfonse and Deacon Ramon officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers and burial will be private.  Visitation will be from 4-6 PM on Wednesday at Emerson Memorial Chapel with a Rosary starting at 6:00 P.M.  To sign an online guestbook, go to emersonfuneralhome.com.
