Eric Calvin Cooper, 54, of Jonesboro, departed this life on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. Born on September 13, 1970, to the late Eddie Cooper Jr. and Wilma Adams Cooper in Jonesboro, Eric lived a life filled with love, generosity, and dedication.

Eric built a successful career as a motor repair salesman at Gateway Engineering and was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Through his occupation, he was a member of EASA since 2005, serving as Vice President from 2014 to 2016 and as the Mid-South Chapter President from 2016 to 2018. He was deeply involved in his community, serving with pride as a Goodwill Ambassador for the Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce. His exceptional service earned him the prestigious title of Ambassador of the Year, reflecting his commitment to fostering connections and uplifting those around him.

An avid Razorback fan, Eric delighted in watching football, playing golf, and enjoying the great outdoors through duck hunting. He treasured quality time with his family, found joy in the simple act of mowing his lawn, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness, humor, and unwavering support touched the lives of many, leaving an enduring legacy of compassion.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Cooper Jr. and Wilma Adams Cooper; his paternal grandparents, Eric and Beatrice Cooper; maternal grandparents, Reva Mae Adams and J.R. Adams; and his father-in-law, Charles Burnette.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 19 years, Christy Cooper, of the home; his cherished daughter, Avery Cooper of Jonesboro; his loving mother-in-law, Brenda Burnette; numerous cousins; and countless special friends who became like family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Emerson Memorial Chapel, beginning at 12:30 p.m., followed by a celebration of Eric’s life at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Ken Stallings and Albert Camp officiating. He will be laid to rest at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Honoring Eric as active pallbearers will be Whitney Edwards, Stephen Green, Matt Shempert, Rob Gibson, Danny Stallings, and Paul Stallings. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Marvin Miller, Stephanie Scott, Ed Adams, Brandon Jones, Bjorn Skoog, Kaut White, and Gary Byars.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital or the American Heart Association, causes close to Eric’s heart.

Eric Calvin Cooper will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, friend, and community leader whose life exemplified service, love, and faith. He will be dearly missed but forever celebrated.
