Emma Franklin, 88, of Jonesboro died Saturday Nov. 15, 2008 at St. Bernards Medical Center.
She was born in Burdette, Arkansas and lived in Jonesboro since 1961, and was a retired cook for Jonesboro Country Club. She was a member of the First Baptist Church on Kitchen Street.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Franklin, one son, one daughter, parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Survived by five sons, Willie, Haywood, Cleo, Henry B, Leander Franklin all of Jonesboro. One daughter Bonnie Parker of Jonesboro. One sister, Lady B. Smith of W.Memphis, Arkansas. Seventeen grandchildren and Thirty two great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday November 22, 2008 at the First Baptist Church on Kitchen Street, with Rev. Wilson officiating. Burial will be private with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge.
Active pallbearers will be Tyren Colbert, Rashadd Colbert, Tahji Burns, Ryan Burns, Barry Thompson and Eugene Parker.
There will be no visitation.
