Emma Gene (Barton) Buzick, of Bella Vista Arkansas, passed away at the age of 96 on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the home of her daughter Lizabeth (McClish) Lottmann and son-in-law Juergen Lottmann, in Bella Vista. She was born August 2, 1929 in Jonesboro.
Emma was the youngest daughter of Demetra Parrish Barton and Frank Barton.
Emma earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Arkansas State College and taught school for many years in Jonesboro, Memphis, and Lake City. After retiring from public school teaching, she owned and taught a private Kindergarten in Jonesboro.
She was an avid bowler and was a top scorer in her Jonesboro League. She also loved to ski on Lake Norfork and dance to her favorite swing music. She loved her dogs and cats with all her heart. Emma was a proud Momma of her two children’s musical careers. Her motto was “Speak Up & Speak Out”, a mantra she practiced proudly and frequently.
She married the love of her life, John W. (Bud) Buzick, Jr., which she said was the best decision she ever made. They loved to take day trips.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband John W. (Bud) Buzick, Jr., sisters Frances Bailey, Martha White, and brother P.C. (Pete) Barton.
She is survived by her daughter Lizabeth (McClish) Lottmann and son-in-law Juergen Lottmann; her son Andrew (Andy) McClish; grandchildren Cody, Kelly, Patty, Sam; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation is Tuesday, January 20,2026 from 1:00-2:00 p.m., at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m., at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
