Elzie Lynn Welker

Elzie Lynn Welker, 69, of Jonesboro passed from this life Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born July 27, 1948 in Jonesboro to the late Harry Elzie and Verna Welker. Lynn grew up in Leachville and graduated from Leachville High School. He then joined the Army and served in the Vietnam War. Lynn later moved to Jonesboro and attended and graduated from Arkansas State University. Lynn was an accountant in Jonesboro for many years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, horse races and the St. Louis Cardinals.

In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty Winkeler, Wanda Haman and 1 brother, Glenn (Peanut) Welker.

Survivors include 1 brother, Edwin (Coye) of Bartlett, Tennesse; 1 sister, Donna (Farmer) Sandbothe of Manila and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Leachville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm at Emerson Funeral Home prior to the service.
