Elvis Pierce, Jr.

Elvis A. Pierce, Jr., 40, of Jonesboro, Arkansas died Monday, February 9, 2009 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Elvis Jr. was born and raised in Jonesboro and was a carpenter by trade. He was a loving and devoted son, brother and uncle, he loved the Arkansas Razorbacks, Nascar racing (especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr.), gardening, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family.

Elvis Jr. was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, J.F. Houston and his paternal grandparents, Dolly and Elbert Pierce.

Survivors include:

His mother and father: Brenda and Elvis Pierce, Sr. of Jonesboro.

One sister, Heather Pierce Smallman and her husband, Steven Smallman of Jonesboro.

One nephew, Kaleb Smallman and one niece, Alexis Smallman, and

His maternal grandmother, Emogene Houston of Jonesboro.

Aunts and Uncles: Glen F. Pierce of Missouri; Sandra Pierce Martin and Donnie Martin of Paragould, Arkansas; John & Sarah Houston of Omaha, Nebraska; Keith & Rose Houston of Harrisburg, Arkansas; Judy Houston Ellis of Plano, Texas; Tammy Houston Hill of Bryant, Arkansas; and Stephanie Houston Chamberlin and Bill Chamberlin of Little Rock, Arkansas.

And many cousins and special friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Mote and Rev. Jerry Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Gibson Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include: Chad Herndon, Marty Herndon, Gary Herndon, Kenneth Gulley, Russell Threet, and Gordy Peterson.

Honorary pallbearers include: Larry Sharp, Steven Smallman, Kaleb Smallman, Melvin McCracken, Glen Pierce, Kirby Pierce, Michael Morton, Andy Hipp, Howie Clark and Wayne Cheshier.
