Elvis Arley Pierce, 62, of Jonesboro, died Saturday at Allegiance Specialty Hospital in Little Rock. He was born in Jonesboro and had lived here his entire life. He was a retired carpenter. He had worked with his father and then later, worked with his son. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and NASCAR. He also enjoyed being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Brenda Pierce of Jonesboro; his daughter and son-in-law, Heather & Steven Smallman, Jonesboro; grandchildren, Kaleb Smallman, Alexis Smallman; brothers, Glen Pierce, High Ridge, Missouri, Elbert Pierce, Jr., Austin Pierce, both of Jonesboro, and Gayle Pierce of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his son, Elvis Pierce, Jr.; parents, Elbert & Dolly Brown Pierce; and a brother, Harley Pierce.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Gibson Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will include Ashley Welch, Jerrod Engle, Dustin Engle, Troy Davis, Cecil Gulley, and Gary Houston.
Visitation will be Monday 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
