Elvis Edmond Baugh, 93, of Bono, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, at Jonesboro Health and Rehab Center.
Born in Craighead County, Elvis lived all of his life in the Bono area. He was a retired truck driver for Jones Truck Line and a member of the Bono Church of Christ.
In his earlier years, Elvis was an active member of the Slabtown baseball team. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Baugh, by 2 sisters: Mamie Berry and Ruby Pfiefer, and by 3 brothers: Lawrence Baugh, Arvil Baugh and Basil Baugh.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Cook Baugh of the home;
1 daughter and son-in-law: Patty and Larry Dulaney of Jonesboro;
1 son and daughter-in-law: Mickey and Vickie Baugh of Jonesboro;
1 sister: Sybil Gillihan of Bono;
5 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 step great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bill Willard officiating. Burial will follow in Caldwell’s Chapel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include: Todd Baugh, Chris Baugh, Jamison Baugh, Cody Sharp, Chad Powell, and David Watkins.
Honorary pallbearers include Gus Merrell, Harold Baugh, Jim Baugh, Larry Gillihan, Darrell Berry, and Cleo Watkins, Jr.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 5-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
