Elsie Mae Cox

Elsie Mae Cox, 81, of Bay, died Sunday at her home of natural causes.

Born in Cash, Mrs. Cox lived most of her life in Bay. She was a retired Nurse’s Aide with Craighead County Nursing Center and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Ishmael J.D. Cox; a daughter: Peggy Langston; 1 brother and 3 sisters.

Survivors include:

5 Sons: J.D. Cox of Paragould,
Danny Cox of Conway; and
Waymond Cox,
Wickey Cox, and
Larry Cox, all of Jonesboro;

3 Daughters: Joyce Darling,
Carolyn Henry, and
Linda Touchstone, all of Jonesboro;

1 Brother: Charles Preston of Bay;

14 Grandchildren,
25 Great Grandchildren, and
2 Great, Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jimmy Young officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.

Pallbearers include: Grandsons Tim Cox, Dewayne Cox, Nickey Cox,
Michael Dickens, John Oliver Henry and Audie Cox.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5-7 at Emerson Funeral Home.
