Elmer A. Hamilton, 90 of Jonesboro, passed from this life January 2, 2018 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born April 10, 1927 to Ernie and Liza Smith Hamilton in Craighead County. Elmer served his country in Army Air Force in World War II. He retired from General Electric and was a faithful member of Apple Hill Church of Christ. Elmer enjoyed his family, and his cat, Scaredy. He also liked to camp, fish and hunt, work on cars and drinking coffee with his buddies. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Daisy, one brother and sister.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Mary of the home; 3 daughters, Lucinda (Terry) Mooney of Euless, Tx; Christene Bishop of Jonesboro; Karen (Tim) Eads of Jonesboro; brother, Leon (June) Hamilton of Bono; sister, Virginia Maynard of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Evan Eads, Craig Eads, Lauren (Adam) Lindsay, Tara (Dakota) Neel and Travis Mooney; great grandchildren, Laikyn Lindsay and Breck Lindsay
Visitation will be Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Apple Hill Church of Christ from 6pm-8pm. Service will be Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Apple Hill Church of Christ at 2:00pm with Bro David Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Herndon Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers will be Terry Mooney, Travis Mooney, Tim Eads, Evan Eads, Craig Eads, Adam Lindsay, Lynn Whitehurst, John Easley, Hunter Whitehurst, Dustin Easley, Dakota Neel, Dylan Whitehurst and Kyle Easley. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Lorado Coffee Drinkers.
