Ellen Elaine King

Ellen “Elaine” King, 71, of Jonesboro passed from this life Saturday, March 2, 2019 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She was born in Jonesboro on November 4, 1947 to the late Alonzie and Beatrice Vinson.

Elaine was born and raised in the Gilkerson area and spent most her life in Jonesboro. She was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was very honored in being recognized for her service award that she received while working at Arkansas State University. Elaine was very proud of her children, her family and her extensive family heritage.

In addition to her parents, Elaine is preceded in death by her brothers,Jerry and Earl Vinson, and sisters, Glenda Tippit and Francis West.

Elaine is survived by her husband of 53 years, Larry King, of the home; two sons, Tim (Stacey) King of Wichita, KS and Jerry (Jennifer) King of Bono; one brother, Joseph Tony Vinson of Fulton, MO; one sister, Kathy Calkin of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Savana King of Dallas, TX, Alex King of Wichita, KS, and Lillian, William, and Jaxon King all of Bono.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m.  Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home with Gary Gibson and Wynndel King officiating. Burial will follow at Gibson Cemetery.
