Elizabeth "Arlene" Smith

Elizabeth “Arlene” Smith, 78, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Friday, April 1, 2022 at NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born to Grayson and Velma Louton on November 15, 1943. Arlene worked for Arkansas State University for many years dealing with grants and contracts. She enjoyed making jewelry and spending time with family. Arlene especially enjoyed visiting with family at birthdays and get-togethers. She is preceded in death by her parents, Grayson and Velma Louton.

Arlene is survived by her sons, Rick Stewart (Donna) of Bono and Steve Stewart of Jonesboro; brother, Lloyd Louton of Hot Springs; sisters, Donna Ausley (Gary) of Bismark, Arkansas, Wilma Potter (Elton) of Malvern, Arkansas, and Glendean Caudill of Texas; grandchildren, Rachel Stewart, Logan Stewart, Eli Stewart, and Jason Stewart; great grandchildren, Conner Stewart and Isla Stewart.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Prospect Baptist Church, 1603 Highway 351, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401 with Mike Book officiating. The family will receive guests and share a meal after the service.
