Elizabeth Jane Pierce

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Elizabeth JanePierce, 93, of Jonesboro, AR on March 24, 2023. Elizabeth was born on February16,1930 to the late Merrill and Thelma Yeakle in Midland, Michigan.At a young age, she moved to California and started working at Robertshaw as an assembly worker for 15 years. In 1959, Elizabeth married George Pierce in Midland, MI and formed a life with him in Long Beach, California. Elizabeth and George went on to have two children, Tenia and Terry.

Elizabeth loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, shopping, doing crafts and watching her television shows.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Pierce, parents, Merrill and Thelma Yeakle and brother, Richard Yeakle. She is survived by daughter, Tenia (Troy) Carter of Midland, MI., and son, Terry Pierce of Jonesboro, AR.; Grandchildren: Keely (Wesley) Smith of Paragould, AR, Justin Carter, Megan Carter, and Andrew Carter of Midland, MI., Jessica (Philip) Kent, Jacqueline Pierce, Travis Pierce, and Aristeo Pierce of Jonesboro, AR. Great-Grandchildren: Bethany, Georgia, and Xavior; Brothers: Rollin Yeakle, Midland, MI, Ray (Mary) Yeakle and Russell Yeakle of Hemlock, MI, and sister, Virglene (Chet) Thornton of Midland, MI.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Terry Pierce, Travis Pierce, Aristeo Pierce, and Philip Kent.

Services will be held at Emerson’s Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro, AR. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 2 pm. Visitation will be held at 1 pm prior to funeral service at the memorial chapel. She will be laid to rest with her husband at the
Pierce cemetery immediately following the service.
