On March 16th, 2020, after an incredible and admirable fight, Elizabeth Waynette Glover defeated cancer and departed for her eternal rest.
Born in Waldenburg, Arkansas February 25th, 1944 to Wayne and Ruth Greeno, she was a graduate of the 1962 Lake City High School class and lived most of her life in Lake City. She was employed by NEA Baptist hospital for 20 years up until her final months. Respected by colleagues and friends, it was said “she had a terminal disease and still showed up like clockwork, outperforming others without ever showing self-pity”
She was a mighty force of life, full of resilience and true grit. Her determination and will shined in both the best and the most difficult of times. She lived a lifetime of sacrifice, service, and selflessness.
She leaves behind her children Steven Wood, Leslie Schreyer, Terry and Angie Wood, Paul Wood, and Tyler Glover. Grandchildren Matt Snyder, Cory Snyder, Samantha Schreyer, Jennifer Johnson, Kayley Elam, Jessica Bentley, Bradley Tucker, Stevie Ann Wood, Brandy Wood, and 10 great-grandchildren. Siblings Bruce Greeno and Judy Beshiers, her best friend and cousin, Gayle Dixon.
Proceeded in departure are parents Wayne and Ruth, sister Anne, husband Gary, daughter Julie Wood, son Eric Glover, grandson Ryan Shawn
Snyder, and one great granddaughter.
Celebration of life will be held in the Emerson Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro, AR, Friday, March 20th at 2:00 PM officiated by Pastor BJ Chatman with a burial to follow at Waldenburg cemetery. Visitation of family and friends will be Thursday, March 19th from 5-7 PM
Pallbearers include Matt Snyder, Cory Snyder, Cameron Bentley, Billy Adams, Dr. Robert Lassonde, and Brandon Travis. Honorary pallbearers include her colleagues at NEA Baptist Hospital.
