Eli L. Lloyd, Jr.

Eli L. "Sonny" Lloyd, Jr., 72, of Jonesboro, died Friday, December 16, 2022, at his home of natural causes.

Born in Jonesboro, Eli attended Jonesboro High School and was a chef in California and Jonesboro for several years. He was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Jonesboro and enjoyed watching movies and cooking for his family. Eli was preceded in death by his parents: Lavern E. Jones and Eli L. Lloyd, Sr., his sister, Shirley I. Kimble, and by two nephews, Kevin Kimble, Sr. and Rodney Kimble.

Survivors include a special great nephew, Kevin D. Kimble, Jr. and his wife Amanda, of Cash;

a special cousin, Hortense Robinson of Jonesboro;

4 aunts, Nazi Lloyd, Beatrice Lloyd, Georgia Lloyd and Esther Butler, all of Jonesboro; and

a host of cousins, nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Emerson Memorial Chapel with

Jimmy Bumper, Sr. and Dan Freeman officiating.

Active pallbearers include Kevin D. Kimble, Jr., Robert Lloyd, Jr., Edward Wolfe, Sr., Harvey Johnson, Joe Pittman and Ronnie Andrews. Honorary Pallbearers include nephews and cousins.

A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
