Edwin Lionel Gibson

Edwin Lionel Gibson, 69, of Bay died Monday at his home. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby, of the home; his son, Richard Rieathbaum of Jonesboro; three daughters, Stephanie Priest and husband, Tom, of Monticello, Jacinda Prince of Bay, and Teresa Dunton and husband, Jim, of Jonesboro; one brother, Johnny Gibson, and wife, Nora, of Newport; and six grandchildren, Ryan Prince, Cade Prince, Beau Priest, Sara Priest, Hannah Dunton and Ean Dunton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman W. and Charsley Simmons Gibson; his first wife, Shirley Gibson; one grandchild, Madison Prince; and two brothers, Norman and Lloyd Gibson.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Bay First Baptist Church with Patrick Kimberland and Milton Cowling officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Active pallbearers are Bruce West, Carbert Rodgers, Scotty Gibson, Timmy Gibson, Jim Dunton, and Chris Weaver. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
