Edwin Bolton

December 5, 1921 — March 12, 2017

Edwin Bolton was born December 5, 1921 in Lucy, Tennessee to the late Gladys and Walter Bolton. He lived in Millington, Tennessee growing up. After a tour of duty in the Navy, during World War II, Ed had a dry cleaning business in Childersburg, Alabama.

Ed started his career with the Postal Service in 1957 in Millington, Tennessee. While there he served as Protestant chapel choir director at NATTC. In 1974 he was appointed Post Master in Pocahontas, Arkansas and was Sectional Center Director for mail processing in 1977 in Jonesboro until retiring in 1983.

Ed started teaching Sunday school at age 22, has been involved in choirs and teaching until 2014. His mission of singing in nursing homes was his most satisfying endeavor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son; Marion Robert Bolton, Brother; William Bolton and a sister; Carolyn Cummings.
Survivors in his wife Faye Bolton of the home.
Son; Robert Bolton of Memphis, Tennessee.

Daughter; Teresa London of Millington, Tennessee.

Grandchildren; Matt London (Nichole), Wade London (Morgan), Cole London and Lyle London.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday March 18, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro with Rev. Bruce Venable officiating. Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Another memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday March 19, 2017 at the Big Creek Cemetery in Millington, Tennessee with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, 701 South Main Street Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401.
