Edward T. Wood

Edward T. Wood, 67, of MT. Juliet, Tennessee passed from this life Friday, August 28, 2015 at his home. He was born June 17, 1948 in Caraway, Arkansas to Herbert and Lorene Wood. Edward was a retired Captain of the Memphis Police Department after 31 years of service. He was an avid amateur “Ham” radio operator.


Edward was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Wood.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Linda Wood of the home; daughter, Kelly (Andy) Mead of Woodward Oklahoma; mother, Lorene Wood Murphy of Jonesboro; four grandchildren: Rachel (Luke) Spitale and Drew (Colleen) Mead all of Searcy, Arkansas, Hannah Mead of Bartlett, Tennessee, Jared (Nicole) Mead of Woodward, Oklahoma; five great grandchildren; two sisters: Neva Brickell and Mary Ann (Ernie) Christmas both of Jonesboro and one brother, Harold (Juna) Wood of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Funeral service will be held Monday, August 31, 2015 at 11:00 am in Caraway Community of Christ Church with Gary Earnhart officiating. Burial will follow in Caraway Cemetery with active pallbearers being Dennis Foster, John Starnes, Roger Bell, Bryan Hook, Cecil Brickell and Vernon Wood.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am prior to the service at the Community of Christ Church in Caraway.
