Edward Eugene Rogers, age 78, of Blytheville, Arkansas, formerly of Jacksonville, Florida, died March 20, 2006 at his home. He was born May 13, 1927 in Pennsylvania.
He fought campaigns in W.W.II and Korea before retiring from the US Navy in 1966. He was a member of the Jacksonville VFW and American Legion and the Navy Fleet Reserves.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years: Katherine Rogers, originally from Jacksonville, Florida;
1 Son: Tommy Rogers of Chattanooga, Tennessee;
2 Step Daughters and sons-in-law: Connie and Mike Hatch of Blytheville, and
Linda and Bill Whitehead of Jacksonville, Florida;
2 Grandchildren: Ryan Rogers, and
Carrie Buckman, both of Chattanooga;
3 Step Grandchildren: Michelle Lomas-Johnson and her husband, Chris-Lomas Johnson of Blytheville;
Michael Hatch and his wife Aimee Hatch of Cooter, Missouri, and
Tammy Guthrie of Jacksonville;
3 Great Grandchildren: Preston Hatch,
Jude Lomas-Johnson, and
Hayden Buckman.
Funeral services and burial will be private with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro, Arkansas in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive visitors at the home of Katherine Rogers on Thursday evening, March 23, 2006, from 6-8 p.m.
