Edward C. Perkins, 91, of Jonesboro, died Sunday morning at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born in Craighead County, Edward lived much of his life in Memphis before moving to Cherokee Village and then to Jonesboro a few years ago.
Edward attended Arkansas State University, majoring in accounting and worked most of his life in public accounting. Before moving to Memphis, Edward operated a Hudson dealership: Quality Motors of Jonesboro.
Edward was a member of Highland Christian Church in Cherokee Village and was a member of the Elks Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Perkins, 2 sisters, Geneive Cooper and Nell Roy Burkhart, and a brother, Kenneth Perkins.
Survivors include 2 sons, Richard Perkins of Memphis and Michael Perkins of Sarasota, Florida;
1 daughter, Carol Washington of Marion, North Carolina;
3 sisters: Glenda Craft and Rita Perkins, both of Jonesboro, and Eva Lee McMahon of Columbia, Tennessee;
6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jerry Shelton and Charles Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening, 6-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
