Edna Pursifull

Edna "Edie" Pursifull (Payne), born November 23, 1964 was born in Rockford, Illinois. She was the first-born child to Joyce (Fiske) and Clyde Payne (predeceased). She and her children attended church at The Rock of Jonesboro AR as often as she was able.

She lived with and was raised by her grandparents, Edna and Lawrence Moore (both predeceased). She graduated from PBHS of Poplar Bluff, MO in 1982. She married her high school sweet heart, Mike Albritton (predeceased).  They added to their family with their daughter, Danielle Albritton.

Edie was also married to Jeff Silkwood, and gained a bonus daughter, Shea (Fletcher).  She then married Randy Pursifull (predeceased), where they were blessed with 4 children. Derek (predeceased), Bethany, Jace, and Raelynn Pursifull.

She continued her studies and became an LPN and then and RN. She gave over 32 years of her life to being a nurse at St. Bernard's. She loved her patients and her co-workers with everything that she was.

She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in late 2016. She was a representative of OCRA and assisted in getting funding for ovarian cancer research. She also went to Capitol Hill in Washington DC to advocate for funding.

For the last 5 1/2 years she courageously battled ovarian cancer, fighting literally to the very end. Her spirit kept going even though her body wasn't able too. On April 29, 2022, at 57, surrounded by family and friends, Edie went to be with Jesus.

Besides those loved ones mentioned above she leaves behind the following loved ones to keep her memory going.  Sister Barbara (Payne) Reed (Warren), sister Katina (Fiorenza) Humphrey (Travis), step father, Eddie Fiske (deceased), sister Sarah (Fiske) Armes, brother Eddie Fiske (Barb). There are several aunts and Uncles, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and great cousins, and friends that are not forgotten but so many that we couldn't name them all.

In lieu of flowers, Edie has asked that donations are made to OCRA (https://ocrahope.org), or St. Judes (https://stjudes.org), or her children.

A visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Emerson Funeral Home.

A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Emerson Funeral Home.
