Edith Lovelace May

June 18, 1912 — March 7, 2006

Edith Mary Lovelace May, 93, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died Tuesday morning at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born June 18, 1912, in Vienna, Missouri, Mrs. May lived in Swifton and Rogers before moving to Jonesboro in 1952. She worked several years as a CNA for St. Bernards Hospital and was a member of First Assembly of God in Jonesboro where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Pace Setters Sunday School Class.

She served as a foster parent for several years in Jonesboro and was preceded in death by her husband: John Ralph May, and by her 2 sons: Donald Ray May and Dale May.

Survivors include:

5 Grandchildren: Connie May Jones, Tammy May Aucoin, Jim May, and Steve May, all of Jonesboro, and Teresa May of Dallas;

7 Great Grandchildren: Jon Jones, Terayn Montgomery, Mayc Montgomery, Ashley May, Drake May, and Jackson May, all of Jonesboro, and Chris Freeze of Dallas; and

1 Great, Great Grandchild: Bailey Jones of Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mike Glover and Rev. Carl Anders officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include: Steve May, Jim May, Ron Jones, Jon Jones, and Brian House.

Honorary pallbearers include: the Pace Setters Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5-7 at Emerson Funeral Home.
