Edith Chambers

January 5, 1910 — March 4, 2007

Edith Chambers of Jonesboro died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Skilcare Nursing Facility. She was born in Bay, Arkansas and moved to Jonesboro in 1937. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and bas preceded in death by her husband, Ray Chambers; her son, Jimmy Ray Chambers; three brothers, Elmer Womack, Forest Womack and Tom Womack; and one granddaughter, Terri Ann Chambers.

She is survived by three sisters, Christine MacDonald, and Kirby Bright both of Jonesboro; Willie Belle Harris of Boling Green, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Jimmy Chambers and his wife Wendy of Jonesboro, and Sherry Chambers, Van Buren, Missouri; seven great grandchildren, three which reside in Jonesboro, Junior, Jake, and Julie Chambers.

Graveside services will be 3:30 P.M., Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Oaklawn Cemetery with Brother Gary Henderson officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, at Emerson Funeral Home.
