Edith Lorene Ackerman

Edith Lorene Ackerman, 89, of Trumann passed from this life Friday, August 21, 2015 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was born December 3, 1925 in Trumann to the late David and Myrtle Speakman.
Edith lived most of her life residing in Trumann where she was of the Baptist belief. She loved to quilt in her spare time and was a great cook.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Kermit Ackerman; son: Willard David Lewis; four brothers: Doyle Speakman, David Glenn Speakman, Layman Speakman, and Leonard Speakman; and one sister: Marsha Speakman.

Edith is survived by her brother Jerry Speakman of Trumann; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be from 12 to 2 pm Monday, August 24, 2015 at Emerson Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be at 2:30 pm Monday, August 24, 2015 at Nettleton Cemetery with John Booker officiating. Active pallbearers will include Freddie Rusher Sr., Freddie Rusher Jr., Matt Butler, Thomas Climber, Eric Speakman, and Jason Speakman. Honorary pallbearers will include the staff of the Lake Side Nursing Center in Lake City.
