Edgar Dewayne Meredith

June 30, 1930 — September 2, 2020

Edgar Dewayne Meredith, 90, of Jonesboro, died peacefully at his home Wednesday, September 2, 2020.  He served in the U.S. Army in the early 1950’s being stationed in Japan.  He became a contractor and was very active during the building boom in the 70’s and 80’s.  After retiring he worked in his garden and projects around his yard.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting. One of his favorite pastimes was playing “Waahoo” with Tracy, Kevin and family.  He made a lot of good memories with his grandchildren.  They made up many games and changed the rules as they went along.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Betty Lou Meredith.

Survivors include his sons, Tracy Meredith and wife Shelia; Kevin Meredith and wife Teresa; Darrell Meredith; and daughter, Sherry Lindley all of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. The family wants to thank his caregivers, Sheila, Wilma, and Linda.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, September 4, 2020, at Pine Log Cemetery with Mike Book officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge.  All other services will be private.
