Edgar Mangrum, 80, of Bay, died Monday March 4, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Edgar was born in Nettleton, Arkansas on April 5, 1932 to Elvis and Jean Cooper Mangrum. He had lived in Bay for 23 years and was a retired assembly worker for General Electric. He was a U.S. Marines veteran, where he served in the Korean War. He was retired from the National Guard in 1992.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his half brothers; Johnny and Jimmy Mangrum and sister, Betty Yewell.
Survived by his wife Patsy Mangrum of the home.
Sons; Mike and John Mangrum both of Jonesboro and Harry McMillan of Granite City, Illinois.
Daughter; April Fore and husband Shane of Bay.
Brothers; Lonnie Mangrum of Goobertown, Larry Mangrum of Trumann, Charles and Danny Mangrum both of Jonesboro, Richard Mangrum of Arizona and Roland Mangrum of Fayetteville.
Sister; Jeanie Johnson of Portland, Oregon.
Grandchildren; Wayne Mangrum, Marissa Richardson, Martina Mangrum, Jade Presley, Luke Fore, Harrison McMillan, Madelyn McMillan, Brannon McMillan, Amelia McMillan, Zoe Fore and Garrett Fore.
Great Grandson; Harper Richardson.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday March 7, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jason Goad officiating. Burial will be in Nettleton Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Shane Fore, Wayne Mangrum, Brian Richardson, Lonnie Mangrum and Wesley Mangrum.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time Thursday March 7, at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
