Eddie D. Kent

Eddie D. Kent, 57, of Jackson, Missouri formerly of Jonesboro passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Regional One Health in Memphis due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident.

Eddie was born in Walnut Ridge on December 2, 1958 to the late Darris and Leona Lasater Kent. He lived in the Egypt area until he was 14 before moving to Mississippi. He worked for Industrial Systems as a crane operator. He was of the Baptist belief. He was a man that enjoyed life, and was always fun to be around. He was very generous, and was always willing to help others. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by daughter, Christina Kent Buchanan; sisters, Dortha Polito and Ann Jones.

He is survived by his son, Eric Kent of Strawberry; daughter, Amanda (Josh) Walker of Strawberry; sister, Kay (Ted) Hopkins; grandchildren, Shelby Biffle of Russellville, Isaac Thomas and Nova Kent of Cave City, Zaiden and Zachary Kent of Jonesboro , and Braxtyn Walker of Strawberry; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday afternoon at 2pm in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Carter Grindstaff officiating. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Smithville with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements. Mark Crigler, Eddie Haff, Mark Lampe, Gary Stone, Tim Jones, Toby Seabaugh will be serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 1:00-until service time.
