Eddie Benjamin Combs Sr., 72, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Monday, March 15, 2021. He was born to the late EB and Pauline Combs on October 30, 1948 in Jonesboro. Eddie served two terms of duty during the Vietnam War in the US Army serving as a Medic. He was a jack of all trades, Eddie was a licensed plumber, licensed electrician, and certified welder. When Eddie was younger he enjoyed restoring vehicles. In his later life, he enjoyed repairing and working on clocks. Eddie was a friendly man who never met a stranger, always willing to help and share a story. He was proud of his service to his country, wishing he could have served another tour of duty in Viet Nam. Eddie’s dedication to his military service led him to be a Lifetime member of VFW. In addition to his parents, Eddie is preceded in death by his niece, Tammy Jo Smith; and nephew, Jeremy Combs.
Eddie is survived by his daughters, Sherry Maynard (Gerald), Betty Jo Madonna (Timothy Hervey), Stacey Clifft, and Sheila Schanuth (Jimmy); son, Ben Combs; brothers, Danny Combs, Kenneth Combs, and David Combs; sisters, Donna Brand and Joann Smith; and Eddie’s first wife, Pauline Allen. Eddie also leaves behind several grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, friends, and his favorite dogs, Oscar and Bandit.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home from 5:00 -7:00 p.m.
