Earvin Dean Langston

Earvin Dean Langston, 83, of Jonesboro passed from this life September 3, 2016 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Earvin was born to the late Bryan and Imogene Langston July 1, 1933 in Lepanto, Arkansas. He has lived in Jonesboro since 2005 after coming from Batesville. Earvin is of the Christian belief. He loved tractors, working in the lawn, and going to the Waffle House where he was a regular. Also during his career he retired from the Singer Plant, sold real estate and was a retired farmer. Most of all there wasn’t anything that Earvin couldn’t fix or do, he was a “Jack of all Trades.”

In addition to his parents, Earvin is preceded in death by his son: Bobby Langston; grandson: Brandon Langston; brother: Marvin Langston; and sister: Becky Ritchie.

Earvin is survived by one son: Ricky Langston of Jonesboro; two daughters: Debbie (Dewayne) Wammack of Gosnell and Donna (Hubert) Ruiz of Lepanto; eight brothers: Billy Langston, David Langston, Douglas Langston, Phillip Langston, Jimmy Langston, Terry Langston, Harold Langston, and Johnny Langston; sisters: Betty Garner, Faye Benson, Agnes Davis, JoAnn Richmond, and Dorothy Hunt; nine grandchildren: Misty Ross, Amy Stahl, Jessica Gill, Meredith Ruiz, Abby Ruiz, Jammie Monclova, Stacey Langston, Bryan Langston, and Sarah Langston; fifteen great-grandchildren; and good long time friends: Charlie and Cheryl Finlay and the regulars of Waffle House.

A visitation will be from 12-1 pm Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Emerson Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 1pm Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Faye Benson officiating.

Burial will follow at Sulphur Rock Cemetery in Sulphur Rock. Active pallbearers will include: Phillip Langston, Douglas Langston, Jimmy Langston, Terry Langston, Charlie Finlay, David Langston, Billy Langston, and Johnny Langston. Honorary pallbearer will be Harold Langston.
