Earnest Peavler, 72 of Bono, passed from this life Monday morning at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Ernie was born in Knoxville, Tennessee to Rhoda Elizabeth Husky. Ernie originally came from Villa Park, Illinois before spending the last 10 years residing in Bono. Ernie served in the U.S. Air Force, he was also a warehouse worker for Montgomery Ward for many years. Ernie was a member of Windover Baptist Church where he was involved in a variety of ways. Earnest was a Deacon, Chairman of the Ushers, a driver of the church van, he was on the building and grounds committee, and Ernie was also in charge of the church directory.
Earnest was preceded in death by his mother Rhoda Elizabeth Husky.
Surviving relatives include his wife Betty of 48 years of Bono and his son Brian Peavler of Lombard, Illinois.
Services will be Friday October 25, 2013 at 10 A.M. at Windover Baptist Church with Bro. Winfred Bridges officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Danny Eddy, Bob Jones, John Cleaves, Rick Atkinson, Jim Cathey, Ronnie Dale, Rueben Simpson, and Troy Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men and Women’s Sunday school class of Windover Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Thursday October 24, 2013 from 5-7 P.M. at Windover Baptist Church.
