Earl Junior Lawson

March 25, 1938 — December 3, 2009

Earl Junior Lawson, 71, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, December 3, 2009, at Baptist East Medical Center in Memphis. He had lived in Jonesboro for 38 years, moving here from Bay, Arkansas. He was the pastor of Alsup Pentecostal Church and preceded in death by his parents.

Earl is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lora Lawson, of the home; sons, Steven Lawson and wife, Tammy; Mark Lawson, and wife Jackie; and daughter, Linda Watson, all of Jonesboro; one sister, Roma Adams, Jonesboro and grandchildren Shawn, Christopher, and Eric Watson; Kirk Mardis, Zane Lawson, Kaylee Lawson and Annie Smithson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 7, 2009 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Odell Lindsey and Helen Garrett officiating with burial to follow at Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Sammy Lee, John Meads, Matt Banks, Harles Banks, Barry Bryant, and Johnny Garrett. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
