Dwight Lee Dunkerson, 65, of Jonesboro, died Monday, February 23, 2009, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center.
Born in Black Oak, Dwight lived most of his life in Lake City and Jonesboro. He was retired from G.E. of Jonesboro with 38 years of service. He was an Arkansas National Guard veteran and a member of the Church of Christ.
Dwight was an avid photographer and currently had photographs on display in the Jonesboro Public Library. He was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Thelma Dunkerson, and by a step daughter: Billie LaWanda Rainey.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Rocky Dunkerson of the home;
2 sons: Justin Dunkerson of Indiana, and Rubel Dunkerson of Newport;
1 daughter: Casandra Dunkerson of North Carolina;
1 granddaughter of the home: Danielle Joyner;
1 sister: Patty Benson of Trumann; and
2 grandchildren: Caleb Dunkerson and Jordan Lindsey Dunkerson.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday afternoon, February 25, 2009, at 5:00 with Bishop Robert Stafford officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will follow the memorial service.
