Dr. Mary L. Wesley, age 66 was born July 4, 1951 in Earle, Arkansas to Lillie Hale Anderson and John Wesley Sr. Raised in Poplar Bluff, Misssouri by her late grandparents Viola and Jim Wesley, she passed into eternal rest while at home February 5th 2018 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Her mother, Lillie Hale Anderson and father, John Wesley Sr. preceded her in death.
Mary worked in Nursing, Rehabilitation Counseling, Substance Abuse Counseling, Arkansas Department of Correction and Jonesboro Human Development for several years.
Mary confessed in Christ at an early age and was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Sanford Ellis and a member of “The Eastern Star”. She believed in education and received her Mortuary of Science Degree from Louisville, Kentucky. She went on to receive other degrees to include a Doctorate of Education in Counseling Psychology, from Argosy University, Phoenix, Arizona, January 6, 2014.
She leaves to cherish her memories one sister: Remona Alametria Wesley Thomas of Tampa, Florida, three brothers: John Wesley, Jr., Muncie Indiana; Johnny Thomas of Marion, Arkansas; Lonnie Thomas of Chicago, Illinois.; step sisters: Annie Lindsey, Forrest City, Arkansas; Wanda Session (Grover), Ft. Worth, Texas, Evalois Young, Springfield, Illinois. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be held, 11:00 AM, Friday, March 2, 2018 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be private and there will be no public visitation. To sign an online registry, go to emersonfuneralhome.com.
