Dr. Lawrence Albright Mink, Ph.D

Dr. Lawrence Albright Mink, 76, of Jonesboro, passed away August 17, 2013.

Born November 10, 1936 in Birmingham, Alabama, he was the son of James Ottis Mink and Aldis Albright Mink. He attended North Carolina State University where he earned his Ph.D. in physics. Coming to Jonesboro, he taught physics, computer science and astronomy at Arkansas State University from 1966 until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of The Society of The Sigma Xi and Phi Kappa Phi.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cynthia Denny Mink; his daughter, Natasha Mink DeMatto and husband Stephen of Cottontown, Tennessee; and his sister, Mrs. Joanne Adams of Homewood, Alabama.

His joy lay in his God, his cherished family and his beloved students.

According to his wishes, a brief memorial observance will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2013 following the 10 o’clock worship service at Greensboro Road Church of Christ. Lasting memorials may be sent to the Greensboro Road Church of Christ, 2008 Old Greensboro Road, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401.
