Dr. Edwin Fletcher Price, Jr. 89 of Jonesboro, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in his home.
He was born in Lawrence, Kansas on April 24, 1921 to the late Edwin Fletcher Price, Sr. and Lena Rogers Price. A member of First Baptist Church, he was passionate in his work as a psychoanalyst focusing on improving the lives of families with special emphasis on children. He was a lifelong stamp collector and his hobbies included birds, butterflies, gardening, and physical fitness. He was a long time member of the National Audubon Society and the Amateur Radio Community (NC5K) and was an accomplished pianist. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He was recently preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Billie Marcelle Price.
He is survived by 5 children David Price, Sharon Price, Rebecca Price Hagen, Daniel Price and James Price; 2 step children James Standing and Beth Christl; one daughter-in-law Anne Standing; one son-in-law Ed Christl; and 3 grandchildren, Paul Standing, Lorraine Price and Annalise Hagen.
A visitation will be held at Emerson Funeral Home on Thursday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Pallbearers are James Standing, David Price, Daniel Price, James Price, Tom Stafford, and Frank Sloan.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that consideration be given to National Audubon Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
