Doyle Lee Wise

Doyle L. Wise, 69, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday afternoon at his home. He had lived in Jonesboro the past 11 years, moving here from Shreveport. He was the owner of Wise Homes in Jonesboro.

Doyle loved fishing, fast boats and cars. He loved being on the water and his antique cars. He was an avid fan of NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Lee “Red” Wise.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Wise of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Doyle Lee & Helen Wise, Jr., Shreveport; his daughters and sons-in-law, Suzie & Ricky Simmons, Converse, LA, Mary Beth Simmons, Mandeville, LA, Danna & Barry Barkley, Jonesboro, Jill & Rob Gibson, Jonesboro; his mother, Edna Wise, Bossier City, LA; his brothers, Donald L. Wise, Bossier City, LA, Albert Wise, Pleasant Hill, LA, and his sister, Glenda Charlotte Wise, Greensboro, NC. Doyle is further survived by his grandchildren, Tyler Simmons, Analeigh Simmons, Mary Katherine Simmons, Clayton Simmons, Maggie Wise, Drew Guffey, Luke Barkley, and Ryder Gibson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at Cornerstone United Methodist Church with Tommy Toombs officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Carl Wilson, Robby Patterson, Lynn Murray, Roger Cope, Bill Greenwood, and Tony McDonald.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee.
